The historical context of this source is the increasing amount of Latino’s in the United States school system over time as more action is being made to make students of color feel welcomed into schools. This article was written by the PEW research center in order to shine light on the increasing amount of Latinos in schools over time as well as the decreasing dropout rates.
This article does not share the writers opinion as it is centered around surveys. The historical significance of this article is the fact that through time and changes to the education system in the United States, there are schools that are starting to see to the needs of Latinx students.
