Abstract
topic: The History of Latinx Education in the United States
Inequality and reform are two concepts that need to be more prevalent in the minds of the Education department of the United States. These concepts play a large role in schools because of how much they affect people of color as well as the education quality and quantity for people of color. Although there are vast amounts of documents revealing that many schools are changing for the better, many historians fail to see the problem with how long it is taking for so many other schools to follow that same change of the system and stop seeing the embrace of a culture as an attack on white Americans. The review of the experiences that Latino’s have had in the north american school system reveal how there is still a long way to go for there to be total equality throughout education curriculums and achievements. Primary sources that will be utilized for this project are first hand accounts of experiences inside of the United States education system and how that fails to recognize and assist all of the needs that students of color need. The larger significance of this project is that the education system in the United States is still very broken, and does not allow for other cultures to develop inside of school systems. Not only that, but the education system also fails to assist Latino students and acknowledge education equality.
